“Tsi muaj lub roob siab dua koj lub hauv caug” “There is no mountain higher than the knee” – Mong people’s proverb – The Mong people’s proverb sounds arduous and difficult, but with an altitude of over 1000m, Dong Van stone plateau will certainly satisfy those who love mountain climbing and adventure.
The land This is a spectacular and unique combination of soaring peaks and deep canyons in the eastern extension of the Himalayas, with the highest peak – Mac Vac (1,971m) and the deepest canyon – Tu San, which is also the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia, with a cliff depth of up to 700m. Not only diverse in paleontology, Dong Van Stone Plateau also has two nature reserves, Du Gia Nature Reserve and Khau Ca Species and Habitat Conservation Area.
These two reserves are rich in flora and fauna such as conifers, southern mountain goats (a solitary mountain goat species) and many native bird species. Therefore, this place has a very rich flora and fauna, including 289 species of higher plants, belonging to 83 families; limestone mountain fauna with 171 species in 73 families and 24 orders. There are 27 species including 17 mammals, 2 birds and 8 reptiles, which are rare animals listed in the Vietnam Red Book.
1. Quan Ba Heaven Gate
Quan Ba Heaven Gate is considered Da Lat in the North. This famous place in Ha Giang is 1500m high and about 43km from the city. Located at 1500m, the Heaven Gate has an extremely favorable location with the front being the scenic spot of the Fairy Twin Mountains. Blending with the fog and the clear morning sun, it creates a scene like a magical fairyland. The higher the road to Quan Ba Heaven Gate, the thicker the fog, especially suitable for those who like to hunt clouds. Along with that, the Heaven Gate is also associated with spiritual culture, historical relics, landmarks and historical stories.

The lonely tree of Ha Giang or the lonely incline tree is not an excellent stop, but it gives you a unique feeling about this land. No one knows when it appeared, but Ha Giang people are very familiar with the image of a large tree leaning against a deep cliff on the road from Quan Ba to Yen Minh. It is known that the lonely tree is the nghien tree, a woody tree, has a long life and brings economic value such as being used for wood.
What makes this tree beautiful is the combination of Ha Giang’s style. On one side is a winding pass, in front is a long stretch of mountains and forests, the tree stretches out to welcome the blue sky. Sunny days, at sunrise or sunset, make the scene even more romantic and poetic.
